CONTEMPLATION

The Contemplative series developed as a sequence of meditative exercises, each painting completed in response to the previous one through sustained concentration, patience, and disciplined study of the Tao. Using the flower as a focal point, rooted in Buddhist meditation practices, the works invite reflection on the shared energy that sustains both nature and ourselves, offering a quiet entry into deeper cycles of existence.

The Contemplative series emerged as a sequence of individual meditative exercises, each painting completed in direct response to the one before it. The practice required dedication, patience, and sustained concentration, unfolding alongside the study of the Tao and a disciplined commitment to refining my own visual voice.

Within Buddhist tradition, practitioners often meditate upon a single flower, not as an object of beauty, but as a means of insight. Through sustained attention, one comes to recognize that the same energy sustaining the life of the flower also sustains our own. It is this understanding that anchors the series.

Here, the flower is not decorative. It functions as a focal point for reflection, presence, and inner inquiry. The works were created with the intention of offering viewers and collectors a space of stillness, paintings that resonate with deeper cycles of existence and invite contemplation of reality beyond the purely physical. Each piece stands as a quiet meditation, shaped by truth, persistence, and reverence for the unseen forces that bind all living things.
