In 2018, I participated in an artist residency at a gallery in Naples, Florida, which provided a unique environment for my creative exploration. The series emerged from the inspiration of creating elaborate studies for future paintings, with the intention of showcasing them in a public exhibition. These studies gradually transformed into finished artworks in their own right. I worked on large sheets of archival paper using acrylics, embracing a spontaneous approach without any predetermined outcomes. My primary driving force was the desire to create something beautiful, which allowed for artistic freedom and exploration.
The residency also posed a time constraint, as it was open to the public. I crafted my pieces while engaging with viewers, sharing exchanges that fueled my creativity. The interaction added another layer of inspiration, enriching both the artwork and the overall experience of the residency. This collection is a reflection of that dynamic creative journey, combining technical skill with the serendipity of spontaneous artistic expression and public engagement.
