In 2014, following my highly realistic series of single flowers, I found myself in my parents’ home in Montreal, where familiar surroundings felt strangely foreign. As I began working on landscapes, I realized the daunting nature of opening a tube of oil colors, each triggering memories tied to my past. To break free from this ingrained programming and discover my truth, I asked myself, "What have I never tried in regards to the way I paint?" The answer was to paint with my left hand and switch to acrylics. Embracing this challenge, I nourished my soul with spontaneous, judgment-free play, resulting in works unbound by memory or expectation.

Upon returning to Naples, Florida, I continued this exploration, creating larger canvases while abandoning labels and definitions of color. Each brushstroke became a cleansing mantra, allowing me to release the weight of my past and live differently. As I embraced new habits and navigated my life by intuition and instinct, a profound transformation occurred: I found peace in the present moment. Now, from this space I call "zero," I paint and create with renewed freedom, capturing the beauty of my artistic journey and the dance of life in my recent flower series.

ABSTRACT

This exploration led to a renewed artistic expression, captured in my recent flower series, as I embraced the beauty of living in the present moment.
