The flower as a subject is not uncommon in art. Many artists have found beauty and inspiration in blossoms throughout history. Flowers attract our eyes with their natural allure, offering joy beyond their biological purpose.

Blandino, however, goes deeper. His work captures a unity of earthly beauty and spiritual transcendence. “My work follows the practice of Buddhist monks,” Blandino explains. “Monks would meditate on a single flower, asking students to silently gaze at it. Over time, students realize they are seeing their true self within the flower. The distinction between the flower and the self fades away, revealing the oneness of all existence.”

Blandino’s flowers are more than just decorative. They are meant to be a focus for meditation, the core of his art. “Meditation is like painting,” he says. “It demands dedication, consistency, faith, truth, and persistence. Both offer relaxation and the challenge of an endless journey. Each step on the path leads to new discoveries.”

Blandino’s art invites us to see beyond the surface, to find unity and enlightenment in the simple beauty of a flower.
